What is soda water?
Soda water is produced from drinking water. It can be prepared and filtered using various techniques and the taste of it can be enhanced by adding carbonic acid. Soda water is subject to the quality requirements of the German drinking water ordinance, the world’s strictest “water law”. It prescribes that drinking water must be suitable for the preparation of food and drinks. This is guaranteed by strict quality checks and limit values from the water utility companies. Samples are taken there every single day and examined in great detail. All water supply companies publish their latest water analyses. Today’s drinking water quality is now more than a match for the bottled water which is available in the shops. Drinking water is frequently very low in sodium and, depending on where it comes from, it contains more or fewer minerals.
